The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Workshop 2-Day Workshop Now Enrolling for August 12-13, 2008

The workshop is being offered to the Branson/Lakes Area as part of an ongoing process of growth and development. The best way to improve any organization, family, or community is to improve yourself.  This workshop provides participants with a robust and tactical implementation of The 7 Habits into their lives.  This is a must for anyone looking to become a more effective person—regardless of position, or stage in life.  A five-step process will help empower participants: 1. Learn the basic principles underlying personal and interpersonal effectiveness.  These principles are habits of people who consistently achieve their desired results.  2. Commit to live these principles.  3. Apply the principles in daily work and personal situations.  4. Meet periodically to share experiences, account for commitments, and learn new principles.  5. Monitor effectiveness and work for continual correction and improvement.  The Result: As people apply the principles consistently over time, they develop habits of effectiveness.  These habits empower them to become more self-directed and less victimized by external circumstances.  When these habits are widely shared in an organization, the organization can move effectively towards its mission.  In a nutshell, the essence of this valuable training is to equip you with the principles, the perspective, and the tools to achieve your goals and live a rich, rewarding, and balanced life.  Workshop Dates: August 12-13, 2008, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Total Cost: $299 Includes: continental breakfast, lunch, weekly planner, and 7 Habits manual. Location: Ozarks Technical Community College at The Shoppes at Branson Meadows, 4440 Gretna Road, Branson, MO 65616.  To register, contact: Lynda Doepker at 417-447-8904 or Sponsored by the Branson Believers and Ozarks Technical Community College Center for Workforce Development.

The Friends of Scouting, FOS, campaign keeps Scouting an affordable, effective youth development program. It funds the Council's infrastructure, or general operating portion of the budget, and provides a support system for the more than 16,000 members and 400 community organizations that partner with the Ozark Trails Council. The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath & Law.  For more information about how you can support Scouting, contact Jeff Barry at (417) 883-1636 x 252 or

Friday and Saturday, June 27 and 28, 2008 will be the First Annual Christmas for CAM.  This fundraiser and food drive is being organized by the Boy Scouts of America and Country Mart to benefit CAM's Food Pantry.  When you are out taking care of your shopping needs for the 4th of July weekend, stop by and show your support at the Country Mart locations on Hwy 248 and in Hollister at the South Towne Center.  These young men will be asking Country Mart patrons to donate Macaroni & Cheese, Ramen Noodles, Cold Cereal and Toilet Paper.  Pick some up while you are shopping or make a cash donation and CAM will do the shopping for you.  Donated food is greatly needed and will allow CAM to continue serving over 400 families every month.  Remember:  A cash donation of $20 can help feed a family of 4 for 10 days.  Christian Action Ministries is a 501 (c) (3) organization.  Donations are tax-deductible.
